A kind of violent loneliness ensues.

Another still life shot through rice paper.
The flower is from a rosebush that grows by my studio door.
The old-fashioned red blooms have been nodding to me every time I pass.

This one has proofed very nicely as a 14″x11″ C-type print.

I’m framing up a couple of these as Xmas gifts.

More work shot using the Schrank Camera, this time mixing fields of cool hues out front of the camera and a collage of translucent materials inside.

I’m finding that strong horizons are creeping into my photographic work – they’ve been a feature of my paintings for some time. Something about the future, looking out, forward.

We live between here and the horizon. It’s always there. Pulling our thoughts out into the distance.

Another recent result from my current art photography experiment (Schrank Camera).

Onions shot through rice paper. No abstract painting added this time, tones seemed to want to be left to themselves.

The wooden dish was made by my late grandfather, William Campbell.
It’s an honor to incorporate his work into my own.

This has proofed beautifully as a 12″x12″ C-type photo print. Very pleased.

Still Life: Shells, Schrank Camera

Results from my current art photography experiment that is the Schrank Camera.

This is shot through a small abstract painting influenced by the ocean, tides and the temporary imprints we leave behind us on the sand.

Shells collect at the high tide mark. The sea washes everything clean between there and the horizon.
